Did you know of the existence of this thing called a flax egg ? Did you ? … Did you ? It comes from these awesome flax birds that originate from the island of Madagascar. For those of you who did not go to google this #notafact and stayed with me, I will tell you two things : Madagascar is a real place and flax birds don’t exist. Just flax seeds that can be turned into the best vegan egg substitute out there. Therefore, this week’s how to will be about how to make a flax egg.
I had to make that joke.
Loaded with vitamins, Omega-3, fiber and much much more, flax seeds are undoubtedly a super food and chances are if you are a vegan you already know about this. However, those of you who don’t know it can rejoice knowing that you can make vegan pancakes, cakes, pies and all the other sweet stuff we all love.
Flax eggs only require 3 easy steps and maybe 5 minutes of your time.
So how to make flax eggs :
- Grind some flax seeds
- Pour some water over the flax meal you have just made
- Wait for 5 minutes
- Done
Of course there is a little trick to it. You have to keep an eye on the water to flax meal ratio. As long as it is 3 (water) to 1 (flax meal) you are good to go.
