How’s it going my friends?
How do you call a rectangle of deliciousness? Vegan dessert bars or vegan dessert squares?
As I was putting together this blog post, I was met with 2 problems. The first one was, how do I decide which recipes to share (there are so many great ones!) and what title to give to this post. Seriously.
I ended up choosing dessert bars as vegan dessert square sounds like a place vegans meet up to enjoy lots of dessert. A place where all the desserts are square. Squares cakes, square ice cream and square doughnuts … how would one go about making that last one exactly ?
That was my nonsensical segment.
In all seriousness, if you are a fan of everything sweet that comes in a bar/square format, then you are in for a treat.
Check it out!
These no bake peanut butter blondies require a handful of ingredients and 5 minutes of your time. They are vegan, gluten-free and refined sugar-free. Keep in mind that they can be made with or without the peanut butter frosting. Although if you ask me, that is not a step I am willing to skip.
Another stunning dessert, made with wholesome ingredients and naturally sweetened. These amazing looking bars are raw, gluten-free and of course, dairy-free.
One of the things I like most about these is that you can make them well ahead of time and store them in your freezer. And here is the best part, it only takes 15 minutes at room temp to have them ready to enjoy.
Looking at these beauties you would think that there is a lot of work that goes into making them. But I would refer you to the title of this recipe again. These brownies only require 3 ingredients, they are completely grain-free, and they have no added sugar whatsoever. Danielle has made it very easy for all of us now to make paleo brownies.
Take everything you know and love about chocolate chip cookies, use vegan ingredients and make it into gooey bars and you will get what this dessert is all about. What a great idea!
This is a true Canadian Classic. If you’re not familiar with Nanaimo bars let me explain them to you.
Layer 1: A coconut & Graham cracker crust
Layer 2: Vanilla custard
Layer 3: Melted chocolate
Whether you’re Canadian or not, you should absolutely try these, I bet that it will win you right over.
Sweet & tangy these vegan mango cheesecake bars are the perfect picture of what summer should be all about. It’s like taking a bite out of sunshine.
These sweet potato pie bars are as simple as they are delicious. It takes all what we have grown to love about sweet potato pie and makes it into an easier and healthier format. What is not to love about that?
The idea of mixing peanut butter and chocolate is certainly not a new one. However, I must say that this is the first time I see it executed in such a way. It looks stunning, chocolatey, rich … everything you want in a dessert that has both peanut butter and chocolate.
Mango and Cardamom are natural allies, and I love that they were matched in this beautiful dessert. Okay, so this is technically not a bar, but you’ve read the title, you know that I can’t not mention this beauty.
I’ll gladly pack one of these as a snack any day of the week.
Another stunning vegan, gluten-free delicacy. These squares are easily made in your blender and will perfectly set in your freezer. Just make them ahead of time and enjoy as needed 😉
